About Me

The Fiddle Leaf Story

It all started with one plant—a Fiddle Leaf Fig I bought during the pandemic, determined to keep it alive.

I dove deep into plant care, reading everything I could find, adjusting light and water, and watching anxiously for signs of life. Then one day, I saw it: a brand new leaf unfurling. I was completely hooked!

What began as a personal mission to keep one plant thriving grew into a full-blown passion. I started collecting houseplants, learning to propagate, and sharing my love of greenery with friends and family. The joy these plants brought to my life—and the peace they created in my space—was something I wanted everyone to experience.

Then came the flowers.

About a year ago, I was inspired by a few friends who started a flower garden in their backyard, and I decided to give it a try! I started a variety of seeds with grow lights in my basement and quickly ended up with too many pots on my patio—so many that I had to beg my husband to build me some raised garden beds. I had so much fun growing all those varieties from seed!

When spring arrived at our new house, we discovered something magical: 13 peony bushes already growing on the property. That was the moment I decided to really give flower farming a go. One thing turned into another, and now I'm planning to farm just shy of a quarter acre on my parents' farm.

It's an incredibly special place—about to become a century farm for my family. While I never got into farming corn and soybeans like my family did, I'm so proud to use some of that land to do something that truly inspires me.

Today, The Fiddle Leaf brings it all together. We grow fresh flowers on our farm, curate a thoughtfully selected collection of houseplants, and create handmade accessories (with help from my talented husband!) that celebrate the beauty of bringing nature indoors.
